AXSchema.org is a community project to define attribute types for use with OpenID Attribute Exchange.
Please join the AXSchema mailing list to participate in the discussion of current and proposed types.
If you are currently using the OpenID Simple Registration Extension, there are types defined on axschema.org that map directly to the data used in Simple Registration.
How do I define new attributes?
If you would like to propose a new attribute type not yet defined in the current list:
- Check whether a similar attribute has already been defined or is in the experimental area.
- Post an "intent to define" message summarizing your new attribute type.
- If your type is generally accepted as being a new type (no one else has already proposed something similar), post a "proposed attribute" message including the attribute type identifier, motivation, description and meta-data.
- Your new type will be added to the experimental area.
- Discussions on the list will dictate whether or not your new attribute is accepted.
The full process for defining new attributes is outlined in the Attribute Types specification.
